Mobility is one of Terraria's most useful forms of progression. Better movement makes exploration faster, boss fights more forgiving and recovery after mistakes much easier.
1. Improve basic movement early
Look for upgrades that make jumping, running and changing direction easier. Movement improvements often affect every part of the game, not just combat.
2. Design arenas around how you move
A useful arena gives you clear horizontal and vertical routes. Build around the movement options you actually have rather than copying a layout that assumes later-game gear.
3. Let mobility expand exploration
Better movement lets you cross dangerous terrain more efficiently and reach resources that were previously awkward. Revisit old areas after meaningful movement upgrades.
4. Fix movement before forcing damage
If you are taking damage because you cannot reposition consistently, another weapon upgrade may not solve the problem. Improve movement first, then reassess the fight.
