Exploration works best when you treat the open world as a network of options rather than a checklist you must clear in one pass.
1. Mark anything you cannot solve yet
Use map markers or your own notes for places that look important but are not worth forcing right now.
2. Gather useful resources while moving
Exploration is more productive when it improves your character at the same time. Upgrade materials and practical items can turn a detour into real progress.
3. Leave when a fight stops teaching you
If repeated attempts feel identical and no useful learning is happening, go elsewhere. The game gives you many ways to return stronger.
4. Revisit old obstacles after upgrades
Earlier enemies and areas are useful benchmarks. Returning later helps you see whether your gear, build and understanding have actually improved.
